The AnnotationAPI adds information to content provided via TextAPI Items. Annotations here mainly form a subset of the W3C Web Annotation specifications. This subset mainly focuses on text and related material, like audio snippets corresponding to a transcription or an image fragment showing a specfic section of the text.
We also constraint to what our main client application – the TIDO viewer – is able to consume.
